Are You in Business or in Denial?

The 7 Things You Need to Know About Setting Fees and Running a Real Business! With Beth Terry, CSP

One of the trickiest parts of the speaking business is finding the “right” fee.
Most of us are pretty good at giving the ol’ pitch on our topics; but when we’re asked, “So how much do you charge?”, we freeze.

That question can be very daunting as it tends to bring up our own money, self-value and assertiveness issues. How do you know what they would consider a “good” price? How high could you go without losing the deal?  Should you do speeches for free? If so, when is the time to consider a “freebie?”

Veteran speaker Beth Terry, CSP, has been around this block for more than 3 decades. She was on the hiring end of the equation when she was National Manager of Admin for a billion dollar Real Estate Group and found herself in charge of corporate meetings.
Now in her 22nd year as a Professional Speaker, Beth has put together a formula that can work for you.

She will help you think about your speaking engagements from a business perspective, ensuring you’re making the money you deserve. You will also learn some of the expense pitfalls to avoid that can put you out of business.

Attendees will leave with:

  • an easy-to-use formula for setting fees
  • a plan for distinguishing “Gratis” fees and “Strategic Discounts”
  • 5 guidelines for adjusting your fees
  • a sample fee schedule that can also double as an attachment to your speaking agreements

If you really want to take you business to the next level you need to attend this event and hear this extrodianry CSP speaker!

Building Positive Relationships

With David Gouthro, CSP – CAPS National 2012 President

As professional keynoters, trainers and facilitators, it is impossible to ignore the challenging times we live in. Economic uncertainty, natural disasters, civil (and not so civil) unrest, environmental pressures, wars (and possible collisions by asteroids) impact us every day.

Yet in spite of all of that, David is firmly convinced we can be incredibly successful in our speaking businesses if we choose to work together more effectively – truly be “Better Together”! In this fast-paced, highly interactive presentation, David will explore ways to increase the likelihood of having positive partnering experiences.  Come and explore!!!

For experienced speakers this is a great opportunity to consider growth opportunities. For those looking to launch their speaking business or perhaps explore speaking professionally, this is a terrific opportunity to meet David Gouthro, who is the CAPS National President for 2012
