If we pay attention to what was once familiar, kids remind us of what it feels like to set goals based on pure enthusiasm. Going to the park, eating ice cream, singing, dancing, and playing video games are just some of the activities kids love. They don’t wake up and say, “How much will you pay me to enjoy playing at the park?” Kids wake up and say, “I can’t wait to build a sand castle.”
The payment kids receive is the fulfillment they experience by being and doing what they love. (Now imagine what their faces would look like if you said, “I would like to pay you to eat ice cream today!”)
In your business, when was the last time you woke up and thought, “I can’t wait to be of service today.”
The million dollar insight is, “do it for the love of it.”
As you prepare for the fall and winter business ahead, you have an opportunity to let go of products and services that no longer provide the same level of fulfillment as they did in the past.
Focus on doing what you love; it will light up your life.
